On Sunday 9th September Dairy Flat Live presents from Australia Tabasco Tom, Doc White and Broderick Smith.
They will tour New Zealand in September and this will be their first performance at Dairy Flat.
Mix one part old-time medicine show, one part hillbilly swing, spice with a bit of country blues and New Orleans jazz and you have the Tabasco Tom and Doc White show.
Tabasco hails from Long Island, New York and is steeped in the traditions of the American musical heartland.
Tabasco found himself in Australia in 1999 looking for like-minded souls passionate about keeping the music he loved fresh but faithful, energetic but respectful, adventurous but grounded.
He didn’t have to look very far because just over the hill in the Dandenong Ranges, Doc White was trying to do the same thing. Joined by Steve Williams on harmonica, Tabasco and Doc deliver the sounds and rhythms of this incredible musical heritage.
Before their performance a Ragtime Ukulele workshop in which you can learn the basic ragtime chord sequence, some variations, some fingerpicking and strumming patterns then let your imagination take over.
You will learn the tune 12th Street Rag – made famous by Roy Smeck – The Wizard of The Strings and Staten Island Slide by ukulele whiz Craig Robertson.
The workshop will run from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
To book a place please call Paul on 027 5619876.
General admission for the performance will be at 1:00 pm and the barbeque will be going and sizzling some sausages as well as producing their world famous bacon sandwiches.
There is a licensed bar, but it is cash only as Eftpos is not available.
