Weekly Sunday Blues Show At Carrington's Ends
The weekly Sunday Blues shows at Carrington's Cafe have been cancelled by the cafe's management with immediate effect, due to the lack of patronage and hence bar takings.
It is extremely unfortunate that we have lost such a great venue for the Sunday blues shows.
We have negotiated a monthly show at this venue to try and get it back on track.
The shows will now be held on the last Sunday of every month with the next show on Sunday 27th Feburary with The Gunsmiths kicking off at 2pm running through to 5pm.
We are hoping the monthly shows will draw a larger crowd and benefit both the club and the venue as we strive to keep the Auckland Blues Club's Sunday blues shows running.
Your support is not just important, it is vital!
Support comes from not only being at a gig or event, but also by paying cover charges, buying tickets to events, and supporting the establishments that pay the bills to bring good Blues acts and events to the area.
The Auckland Blues Club does what it can to help make events happen and be successful, but we cannot do it on our own.
This newsletter goes out to over 1000 people twice a month and yet less than 10% of those people attended gigs on a regular basis.
So please support your local venues and your regional bands!
If you could spread the word via emailing a few friends to widen our exposure, it would be so much appreciated.
If we don't start support the bands and venues, then more and more of them will be lost to us, bands will quit touring in this area, and not get booked here.
