The Gunsmiths
The Gunsmiths are a serious blues based 3 piece power band.
Hailing from the dusty alleys of Auckland NZ, the Gunsmiths are a musical tri-athlete, oozing authentic and dynamic Hendrix and SRV styled sounds.
Apart from a growing list of originals, you may find Gunsmiths performing tastes of Johny A, Brian Setzer, Joe Bosamama, Rory Gallagher, Cream and Robben Ford amongst others.
Paul Smith, singer, songwriter, and guitarist is still being reincarnated, and inspired by the spirits of the great guitar masters after evolving from New Zealand’s earliest known Dunedin original bands such as Visitation and Lodestone.
Lynn (Vinnie) Buchanan is the powerhouse behind the band and a professional drummer / drum teacher.
Lynn is also a seasoned skin session man who has worked with Roger Fox, Dragon and Tommy Emmanule amongst others.
Paul Merriot is a superb bass player, singer, songwriter, who has worked his craft performing and recording with a number of prominent bands such as the Darcy Perry Band and has toured North America with Confessor.
Paul lays down the groove so smooth it’s guaranteed to make you move.
The band has their own studio and in addition to performing modern blues based material, is increasing their portfolio of original recorded material.
