Auckland Blues Club

JT and the Bluebenders is led by bass player John Thomson and his two long term musical friends Brett Nielsen on drums and Graeme Webb on guitar.

They have played together on and off for more than 30 years.

This latest version includes Walter Bianco on sax and features Holly Shepheard on vocals.


The aim of the band has always been to explore the wide spectrum that is the blues via– their own material as well as thoughtful selections from the blues songbook - from Delbert McClinton to Mose Allison to the Band to Etta James to Susan Tedesechi– and to play the blues to the strengths of the musicians involved.
