“It is hard to measure how important the blues is to our culture, or to count its many interpretations in modern music.
From David’s psalms to Howling Wolf’s plaintive cries, the blues is truth.
I keep the faith by sharing it’s honesty and it’s power for emotional and spiritual healing.
I support the Auckland Blues Club for bringing together people with a love for the music and their desire to see the sacred flame keep burning.”
“It’s great to hear that Auckland is finally gonna have a real, bona-fide, grown-up blues club!
And about time, too!!”
“I would like to thank the blues club for your interest and support while I’ve been over here playing.
Its a great place to visit and play blues.
I’d love to come back, and it’s also great to have other musiciens who are willing to go along and enjoy playing old blues.

“Well done to all concerned, I was part of the Wellington Blues Club which we started in the 60’s, along with people like Colin Morris, Bob Child, Bill Lake, Rick Bryant, amongst others.
It was hard work then and it will be hard work now.
I've paid my dues in keeping the original Afro American blues culture alive since then in my own way, with teaching the history of the origins and the consequent growth wordwide of this timeless music.
This to me is the neglected part of the blues today, hopefully you can foster interest in the traditions and origins of the blues story.
Its my view that to fully understand the music today, its important to know the history.
Its more than just flash licks on a Fender Stratocaster, I wont go on!
So I wish you all the best for the venture you have undertaken, I am especially impressed with the way you merged the interested parties into the club you have now launched and the site.
I am happy to become a member, and look forward to receiving the membership application.”
